Video 13 Dec 6 notes

The above photos are from the first batch of 55 total equines (ponies, horses and donkeys) seized from a south Minnesota farm in November and brought to the U of M, in what’s been called one of the worst cases of animal abuse/neglect in state history. (More on that story here) Since then, six of those animals have died or been put down.

A large number of these animals are being treated and rehabilitated at Truhaven Ranch; a nonprofit family-owned/operated rescue out in central Minnesota committed to rehabilitating abused and neglected animals, and seeing them off to good homes. I’m very proud and privileged to know the small handful of people who run and work the place, and they’re pretty much a second family. I want to help them take care of not just undertaking, but many more to come, but between work, school, and distance (It’s a 90 minute drive one way), I haven’t been out there in months.

This is the part where I ask for help. I can’t go out there in person, and I can’t throw down a whole lot of money, but I can spread the word, in hopes of getting people to respond. If you could go to the Truhaven website, and donate whatever amount you can, I’d be greatly appreciative.

Thank you.
